Countertop Ice Maker – Portable Ice Maker Machine for Home

easy to set up and turn on. a little louder than I expected. you probably don't want this running next to you at your desk all day. starts making ice quickly. will make enough to fill up your Stanley tumbler in appx 60 minutes. very convenient if you want to have your own ice instead of using the community ice maker. this does have moving parts that I could see breaking in the future. so far though it is working fine. makes smallish ice about the size of the end of my thumb. I am going to enjoy using this for ice lattes this summer!edit: been using this for a few weeks now. aside from it being noisy, it works really well. I am very happy with it. the small size is very convenient for my office. if I need it to be quiet, I just turn it off for a bit and turn it back on again later. Really a nice luxury item to have at work in Summer.

This came in and I got it unpacked and read the instructions (which had a lot of warnings about not using flammable and/or explosive liquids in it). Although the instructions were not explicit about it, and I wanted to put it to work right away, I left it on the counter, sitting upright and unplugged for 24 hours so that the coolant could settle from shipping and the compressor would work. When I got home from work the next day, I put filtered water from my fridge in it, turned it on, and it was already set to large bullets. Sure enough, within 6 minutes, nine well formed ice bullets dropped and were scooped into the little basket. My husband thought it was pretty impossible to make ice in that short of a time, but there it was.This little ice machine is straight forward and easy to use. It cycles through drawing up water from the tank, freezing and releasing ice, and scooping the ice into the basket with precision. The ice machine in my fridge has issues and I keep it turned off, but it still freezes and dispenses. So I empty the ice accumulated from the basket into my ice maker's tray and then dispense it as needed from the fridge. Very convenient!I let this run and added water, dumping ice and replacing water frequently for a couple of hours and had plenty of ice for my 40oz tumbler in the morning. And probably my husband's, too with some left over. It makes small batches, but does it quickly and efficiently, and it adds up faster than I thought.So far I am extremely pleased with this little ice maker. It is black, which I like because it blends in with my counter top. It also comes with a handle so the whole thing can be easily carried and repositioned. It isn't very heavy, either, making it extremely portable and easy to put away when not in use. I'm looking forward to keeping my old fridge ice bay and dispenser in action with this. A good value and recommended.
